Captain's Day 2025

Saturday’s Captain’s Day event turned out to be a cracker despite the weather threatening to derail it.

90 players beat the showers to produce 2 fantastic competitions that both went right to the wire.

Competition Results
In the men’s competition the champion was Dave Light who won by 1 point with a score of 38 points beating Mr President, Rob Williams, Graham Wilson and Craig Alexander into 2nd, 3rd and 4th place respectively, all with 37 points.

Well done Dave, great to see you taking the major prize.

The ladies competition was even closer with Patti Vincent coming out victorious with 35 points beating Sharon Tidd on a count back with Sue Wall taking 3rd place on 33 points.

Great result Patti on what turned out to be a very fruitful day.

Congratulations to all winners, especially Patti, Sharon and Graham who all picked up 2 prizes.

It was great to meet everyone on the first tee and I’d like to thank everyone who took part for making it a very memorable day.

Big thanks to everyone who took part in the raffle for the Scotty Cameron putter and 4 ball voucher for Antrobus Golf Club both generously donated by Macdonald Hotels.
Thanks to everyone’s generosity this enabled us to raise £600 for our Captains’ Charity, Age UK Cheshire, meaning we raised almost £1200 in total for the day.

Captain’s Evening
Some of those who played had the energy to move on to Captain’s Evening where they enjoyed a fantastic evening’s entertainment complimented by an excellent 2 course meal.

Prior to the meal we presented the trophies for the day’s event and made the draw for the Scotty putter and Antrobus 4 ball.

The lucky winner of the putter was none other than the ladies’ competition and NTP in 2 winner, Patti Vincent. Congratulations to Patti, a worthy winner and someone who always shows great support for our charity events.

Following the meal we were entertained by Johanna McCrory who performed a Céline Dion tribute followed by a general session of well known classics. What a singer!!!!

The night was rounded off with dancing until midnight to the very eclectic Captain’s Playlist.

On a personal note, I would like to sincerely thank everyone who attended on the day and/or evening for making the biggest day of my Captain’s year so far, very special.

Thank you,

Davie
